BAR PREPARES FOR GROWTH WITH MANAGEMENT RESTRUCTURE Following five years of major growth, Bar Foods has restructured its management team in readiness for the next stage of the company’s expansion strategy. The current sales and marketing director Aisling Kemp has been promoted to managing director. Nick Taylor continues as finance director and Bill Beaumont becomes operations director. The new structure takes effect from 1 February. Newport-based Bar Foods was founded by Jeremy and Sheila Leonard 25 years ago. It is a major supplier to the pub and restaurant sector, as well as supplying a growing number of food manufacturers, who produce meals for major retailers. Mr Leonard will take the role of Chairman. Aisling Kemp has been with Bar Foods since 2002 and previously held roles at JD Wetherspoon, Whitbread and Geest. She has been instrumental in driving the firm’s five year commercial strategy, which has grown turnover from £12 million to almost £21 million in that time. Kemp said: “These changes put the business on a firm footing to pursue further growth, led by a committed and energetic management team. “In my expanded role I will be continuing to pursue the business strategy, whilst ensuring that the needs of our customers continue to come first.” She added: “Jeremy and Sheila have created a great business with passionate people and quality products. We are proud of our achievements so far and it’s exciting times ahead for the company as the management team take the business forward.” Mr Leonard commented: “Aisling has been instrumental in Bar’s growth and establishing the strong position the company enjoys today. Both myself and Sheila have every confidence that under Aisling’s direction and management Bar Foods will go on to be even more successful in the next 25 years.”
