BAR Foods Technical Team Toast out 2009 with pride

The Technical team for Soup, Sauce and Recipe dish manufacturer BAR Foods have had an outstanding 2009 and are keen to replicate the achievements well into the new decade.

In June 2009 BAR achieved their BRC Grade A Status and are proud to be one of the select companies in Europe to have retained certification to the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Food Safety – Issue 5.  The standard was upgraded to include more rigorous requirements which include citing evidence of Management Commitment and Continual Improvement and tougher requirements for HACCP and Allergen Management amongst others.

“Many of the new requirements for the latest BRC Standard are part of BAR’s daily activities.” Said Kevin Tetley, Technical Manager for BAR Foods. “Each department within our company work very closely to ensure the best possible commitment to our customers from all levels. By retaining our status as a Grade A supplier we are reinforcing our commitment to our customers.”

July 2009 saw BAR Foods pass their ISO accreditation with no issues being raised.  In addition to the globally recognised qualifications BAR Foods technical team have been hosting almost month customer audits from since 2009 with outstanding results.

September 2009, saw the implementation of a new improved Product Data Management Programme. This new system has put BAR Foods streets ahead of the competition, allowing the technical team to analyse recipes from formulation right through to launch and provide all the information needed for the FSA 2012 guidelines on salt and fats for our customers along with allergen status.

BAR Foods are proud to have such a high achieving technical team and to be one of the elite who have achieved and retained the BRC Grade A status. As a company we will continue to improve systems and procedures internally to ensure we constantly provide our customers with the best possible support and information to demonstrate compliance with the latest FSA nutritional targets.
